French warplanes pounded Islamic State positions in Syria on Sunday as police in Europe widened their investigations into coordinated attacks in Paris that killed more than 130 people.
Islamic
State has claimed responsibility for Friday's suicide bombings and
shootings, which have re-ignited a row over Europe's refugee crisis and
drawn calls to block a huge influx of Muslim asylum-seekers.
French
police have launched an international hunt for a Belgian-born man they
believe helped organize the assaults with two of his brothers. One of
the brothers died in the attacks, while the second one is under arrest
in Belgium, a judicial source said.
A further two French suicide
attackers have been identified, police said, while the identity of four
other assailants, who all died in the violence, was still under review.
France
has been bombing Islamic State positions in Iraq and Syria for months
as part of a U.S.-led operation. Following Friday's mayhem, Paris vowed
to destroy the group. Underlining its resolve, French jets on Sunday
launched their biggest raids in Syria to date, hitting its stronghold in
Raqqa.
"The raid ... including 10 fighter jets, was launched
simultaneously from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Twenty bombs
were dropped," the Defence Ministry said. Among the targets were a
munitions depot and training camp, it said.
IS fighters said they carried out the gun and bomb massacre - calling Paris "the capital of prostitution and obscenity".
Sky's
Sam Kiley, in northern Iraq, said the French airstrikes should not be
seen as a "wanton act of revenge" or carpet-bombing campaign.
"I
think it's very clear that the French and the wider coalition have
decided in a sense to give France the iron fist at least for the next 24
hours or so," he said.
PARIS — French warplanes struck Islamic State militants
in Syria on Sunday, a French government official said, two days after
attackers linked to the terrorist group carried out a coordinated assault on Paris that killed 129 people.
Prior to the attack on Paris, France had been sparing in its strikes against targets in Syria.
News
reports in France said the airstrikes were focused on Raqqa, the city
in northern Syria that is the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic
State.
The attackers in
Friday’s terrorist assault in Paris communicated at some point
beforehand with known members of the Islamic State in Syria, officials
on both sides of the Atlantic say, adding evidence to the assertions
that the radical group coordinated or helped carry out the attacks
rather than simply inspired them.
President François Hollande of France has characterized the attacks as “an act of war” carried out by the Islamic State, also known as ISIS
or ISIL. He provided no specific information, but the Islamic State
released statements on Saturday claiming responsibility for the attacks,
part of increasing indications that the group is becoming more capable
of extending its reach far beyond its base in Syria and Iraq.
A
manhunt is under way for Saleh Abdeslam after he was reportedly
questioned and released despite being identified by authorities.

A man wanted over the Paris terror attacks had been questioned and released by police hours after the massacres, it is claimed.
Salah
Abdeslam, 26, reportedly helped with logistics and rented a black
Volkswagen Polo used by the gunmen who stormed the Bataclan concert hall
and killed at least 89 people on Friday night.
He was apparently
spoken to by officers on Saturday morning when they pulled over a car
carrying three people near the Belgian border.
Police then checked Abdeslam's ID and subsequently let him go, officials told the Associated Press.
The
incident came just hours after authorities had identified him as the
person who rented the Polo which was abandoned at the scene of the
attack.
One
of his brothers, Ibrahim Abdeslam, was reportedly among the seven
suicide bombers in the co-ordinated assaults targeting six sites across
the French capital.
A third brother was apparently arrested in Belgium and questioned before being released.
Salah Abdeslam, who was born in Brussels, is described as 1m 75cm (5ft 8in) tall and has brown eyes.
Police
released a photo of him and warned the public he is dangerous and said
"do not intervene yourself". There are reports he may have fled to
Spain.
Another man, Bilal Hadfi, has been named as among the
attackers and he also lived in Belgium as did Salah and Ibrahim
Abdeslam, said the Washington Post.
If
investigators determine that the Islamic State is responsible for the
catastrophic attacks in Paris, as the group claims and France alleges,
the assaults represent a major leap in the group’s abilities.
Until
now, the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, has relied mainly
on “lone wolf” followers to attack the West, with relatively low-tech
assaults — shootings, the taking of hostages, hit-and-runs — that draw
wide attention but do not cause mass casualties.
“This is much
different than a normal lone wolf inspired attack,” said Patrick M.
Skinner, a former C.I.A. operations officer now with the Soufan Group, a
security consultancy. “This was choreographed.”
“The fact that
they could do this, especially in Paris, where the intelligence service
is really good, clearly there’s a hole somewhere,” Mr. Skinner said.
The
Islamic State has been expanding beyond its base in Iraq and Syria
since it declared a caliphate, or Islamic state, in June 2014. The group
is focused on three parallel tracks, according to Harleen Gambhir, an
analyst at the Institute for the Study of War:
inciting regional conflict with attacks in Iraq and Syria;
building relationships with jihadist groups that can carry out military operations across the Middle East and North Africa;
and inspiring, and sometimes helping, ISIS sympathizers to conduct attacks in the West.
“The
goal,” Ms. Gambhir said, “is that through these regional affiliates and
through efforts to create chaos in the wider world, the organization
will be able to expand, and perhaps incite a global apocalyptic war.”

Air forces from around the world have gathered deep in the Arava desert in the south of Israel for the past week and a half to take part in the largest aerial exercise in the history of the Israeli Air Force.
The “Blue Flag” exercise, which is continuing through November 3, pits the Israeli Air Force, the United States Air Force, Greece’s Hellenic Air Force and the Polish Air Force against a fictional enemy state, the captain in charge of all IAF exercises told The Times of Israel Thursday night.
A number of other countries, including Germany, also sent pilots and officers to observe the exercise, but did not take part.
This joint drill is the second “Blue Flag” exercise; the first took place in 2013 and was the largest multi-lateral exercise the IAF had ever hosted.
The various air forces collaborated closely through every step of the current exercise, the IAF captain said, from planning to execution and finally to debriefing.
Though the exercise began on October 18, planning for it started nearly eight months ago, the Israeli official said, with an IAF representative contacting each participating country and initially asking, “What do you want to train for?”
Those requests came together to form the plan for “Blue Flag,” which sent Israeli and American F-15 squadrons, along with Israeli, Hellenic and Polish F-16 squadrons, flying through nearly all of Israel’s air space, firing simulated weapons against fictional enemy missile launchers, convoys and aircraft, he said.
Israel hosts largest-ever intl air force drill, pitting troops against fictional enemy
Israel is hosting its largest-ever international air force exercise. The two-week 'Blue Flag' drill features Israeli, American, Greek and Polish troops in a battle against a fictional enemy state.
The Blue Flag drill consists of Israeli and American F-15 squadrons, as well as Israeli, Hellenic, and Polish F-16 squadrons flying through Israeli airspace while firing simulated weapons against fictional enemy missile launchers, convoys, and aircraft, the Israeli Air Force captain in charge of the exercise told the Times of Israel.
However, the captain said the exercise is designed to test the capabilities of the troops involved, rather than the military equipment itself.
“We wanted it to be challenging for the airmen, rather than for the machines,” said the IAF captain, who could not be named due to security reasons.
However,
the Egyptian government has rubbished that the plane was shot down by
missile. The Russian concluded that the Russian Airbus A321 that crashed
in the Sinai broke up in mid-air at 36,000-feet. The
plane had been heading from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to the
Russian city of St Petersburg before the crash.

The light was spotted travelling quickly over Orange County and neighbouring areas late on Saturday, leading to fevered speculation online over its origin.
The Orange County sheriff said the light was from a naval test fire made off the California coastline.
Aviation officials had warned of possible US military activity.
Videos posted online show a bright flare rising high, before a wide, bright blue flash emerges in a cone shape. Many videos continue to track the light for several minutes.
On Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said night-time flights to and from Los Angeles International (LAX) would avoid flying over the Pacific Ocean to the west of the airport, the second busiest in the US.
The FAA did not disclose the reason for the change, but indicated that military activity in the area would take place between Friday and Thursday.
Media in California confirmed that the light came from an unarmed Trident missile fired from the USS Kentucky navy submarine.
The platinum-selling singer Josh Groban was one of those who tweeted his shock at the light:

A mysterious light that streaked across San Diego’s night sky Saturday, visible as far away as Nevada and Arizona, was a Trident missile test-fired by the Navy.
Navy Strategic Systems Programs conducted the scheduled Trident II (D5) missile test flight at sea from the Kentucky, an Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, in the Pacific Test Range off the coast of Southern California, a Navy spokesman said.

The test was part of a scheduled, on-going system evaluation test, said Cmdr. Ryan Perry with the Navy’s Third Fleet.
Perry said launches are conducted on a frequent, recurring basis to ensure the continued reliability of the system. “Each test activity provides valuable information about our systems, thus contributing to assurance in our capabilities,” he said in a statement.
The missile was not armed and Strategic Systems Programs does not routinely announce missile testing. Information regarding the test launch of such missiles is classified prior to the launch, Perry said.
The test range is a massive area northwest of Los Angeles. The Navy periodically uses the range to test fire Tomahawk and Standard cruise from surface ships and submarines.

(NaturalNews) "A mysterious bright light in the sky has sent Californians into panic," reports the BBC. "Videos posted online show a bright flare rising high, before a wide, bright blue flash emerges in a cone shape. Many videos continue to track the light for several minutes."
Last night, Californians immediately leapt to social media to propose their theories of the phenomenon, ranging from a nuclear missile attack to meteors. "Law agencies and news media in San Diego were flooded with calls about 6 p.m. from people reporting everything from a flare to a comet to a nuclear bomb in the western sky," reports the San Diego Union Tribune.
Just a day earlier, the FAA had issued flight restrictions for the Los Angeles International Airport, denying aircraft access to one of the most frequent approach paths for international and domestic travel.
The official explanation is a lie
The "official" explanation of this event -- and remember that "official" explanations are almost always cover stories -- is that the U.S. Navy launched a test missile just because they "routinely" test missiles.
"Media in California confirmed that the light came from an unarmed Trident missile fired from the USS Kentucky navy submarine," reports the BBC. While they call the missile "unarmed," they fail to mention that the Trident missile normally carries a thermonuclear warhead. There's also no way for the media to know whether this missile was really unarmed or not, as the sole source on that question is the U.S. Navy itself.
Apparently the media thinks the public is so incredibly stupid that they'll believe the U.S. Navy has nowhere else to launch a test missile other than right next to Los Angeles. Somehow we're supposed to believe the entire Pacific Ocean won't work for such a test launch, so they have to launch it adjacent to the airport and thereby inconvenience commercial aviation traffic for an entire week.
Obviously, the official cover story is pure bunk. So what's the real story behind this? It all has to do with China and the covert war that's already underway between China, the US and Russia.
China's military submarines are a huge threat to U.S. national security

The report states:
China is building a modern and regionally powerful navy with a limited but growing capability for conducting operations beyond China’s near-seas region. Observers of Chinese and U.S. military forces view China’s improving naval capabilities as posing a potential challenge in the Western Pacific to the U.S. Navy’s ability to achieve and maintain control of blue-water ocean areas in wartime -- the first such challenge the U.S. Navy has faced since the end of the Cold War.
China’s naval modernization effort encompasses a broad array of platform and weapon acquisition programs, including anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBMs), anti-ship cruise missiles (ASCMs), submarines, surface ships, aircraft, and supporting C4ISR (command and control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) systems.
The most important section of this report, in my assessment, is this description of China's ship-killing ballistic missiles:
China is fielding an ASBM, referred to as the DF-21D, that is a theater-range ballistic missile equipped with a maneuverable reentry vehicle (MaRV) designed to hit moving ships at sea. DOD states that China continues to field an ASBM based on a variant of the CSS-5 (DF-21) MRBM that it began deploying in 2010. This missile provides the PLA the capability to attack aircraft carriers in the western Pacific. The CSS-5 Mod 5 has a range exceeding 1,500 km [about 810 nm] and is armed with a maneuverable warhead.
China, in other words, has weapons capable of destroying U.S. aircraft carriers, destroyers and other ships. The 1,500 km range is key because it allows a very wide operational range.
Just recently in August, the Chinese and Russians held their largest naval joint exercise in history as a way to "counter U.S. influence in Asia." As reported by Collapse.news:
The Russian and Chinese navies are set to hold their largest joint exercises ever, featuring scores of warships, hundreds of troops and an amphibious landing, in what appears to be a deepening of ties meant to counter a rising U.S. military presence in Asia.
In September, Chinese warships were spotted operating near the coast of Alaska. This was reported across the mainstream media, including in the Wall Street Journal in an article entitled, "Five Chinese Navy Ships Are Operating in Bering Sea off Alaska."
Fox News also covered the same story: "5 Chinese warships spotted off Alaska coast during President Obama's visit."
In response to that territorial provocation, the U.S. Navy sent the USS Lassen destroyer to within 12 nautical miles of China's newly-constructed military bases in the Spratly Islands.
China's communist government openly condemned the act as a provocation of war. From the Straits Times:
China claims most of the South China Sea and on Oct 9 its Foreign Ministry warned that Beijing would "never allow any country to violate China's territorial waters and airspace in the Spratly Islands, in the name of protecting freedom of navigation and overflight."
Secret space weapon attacks on China's industrial infrastructure
This is all on top of the Pentagon's secret space weapon attacks on China's industrial infrastructure.
As I wrote on August 17 of this year, Natural News was informed by mainland Chinese dissidents that they believe the string of mysterious industrial explosions such as the massive Tianjin explosion was caused by kinetic strikes from orbital platform weapons operated by the United States.
China then retaliated by covertly destroying a U.S. weapons depot in Tokyo, using old-school sabotage techniques. Two additional industrial explosions in China soon followed.
Taiwan surrenders to China with insane "One China" admission by President Ma
China's war of aggression is also in high gear on the geopolitical side, with China pressuring Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou to publicly state yesterday that Taiwan is now part of China!
A massive cultural backlash in Taiwan is now surging, as most of the country's citizens do not want to be part of communist China. Taiwan's DPP party is rapidly rising to prominence on the platform of Taiwan as a sovereign nation, but China remains in an aggressive military stance, always threatening Taiwan with an armed invasion if Taiwan attempts to "secede" from China. (Taiwan's GMT party, which is a "pro-China" party, has been plagued by an endless stream of scandals and corruption.)
From Channel News Asia: "Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou emphasised the island must continue to uphold the 1992 Consensus with China’s Communist Party in order to promote cross-strait relations and development, as he marked the 22nd anniversary of the historic talks between Taipei and Beijing in Singapore."
Taiwan is a critical strategic island for U.S. influence over the Pacific naval theater of operations. Taiwan's airports and military basis provide key strategic locations for staging U.S. aircraft and even bombers if conflict breaks out with China.
As you ponder all this, keep in mind that Taiwan's media giants have all been infiltrated and taken over by communist China. The Taiwan media is now China's state-run media. Only small, independent websites can be trusted to report the truth.
The Trident missile launch near Los Angeles was a warning shot against China in a last-ditch effort to prevent all-out war
The upshot of all this is that the U.S. and China have been engaged in a covert war for quite some time, and that covert war has escalated month by month, even as the official state-run news organizations of both nations have denied any war is happening at all.
Last night's test launch of the Trident missile over Orange County was staged near a high population area for a tactical reason: To have as many witnesses (and videos) as possible, sending a very visible warning message to China that says, "We can destroy you if you don't back off."
The Trident missile, built by Lockheed Martin, is a thermonuclear missile system (Fleet Ballistic Missile) with a range of at least 4,000 nautical miles. See the Trident missile page on the U.S. Navy website. Just one Trident missile launched from somewhere in the Pacific Ocean could devastate China with a nuclear strike on Beijing.
The U.S. Navy's "showcasing" of the Trident missile near Los Angeles is a $31 million billboard that tells China, "Don't f--k with us."
Nobody in the mainstream media is report this; probably because, with a few exceptions, they are mostly clueless, brain-dead propagandists who know nothing about international geopolitics and the real state of conflict in our world. Also, they are ordered what to write by the U.S. government regime in exactly the same way China's "journalists" are ordered what to write by the Chinese regime.
Right now, the United States and China are in an undeclared state of war. China stands ready to strike the USA with nuclear warheads or high altitude EMP weapons that would destroy the U.S. power grid and cause 90% casualties across the unprepared population. Legendary American journalist Ted Koppel has even written a book about this entitled Lights Out: A Cyberattack, A Nation Unprepared, Surviving the Aftermath.
China and Russia preparing massive first strike against America
Many people believe that China and Russia are working together to prepare for a massive first strike against the United States that would cripple its defenses and economy. Following that first strike, a land invasion would commence using Russian troops.
Supporting this theory, Russian submarines have been spotted near undersea internet cables in an obvious effort to document their whereabouts so that the cables can be instantly severed, unleashing a devastating blow to the U.S. economy, Wall Street and even military communications. "Russian submarines and spy ships are aggressively operating near the vital undersea cables that carry almost all global Internet communications, raising concerns among some American military and intelligence officials that the Russians might be planning to attack those lines in times of conflict," reports WND.com. " In times of tension or conflict, the ultimate Russian hack on the United States could involve severing the fiber-optic cables at some of their hardest-to-access locations to halt the instant communications on which the West’s governments, economies and citizens have grown dependent."
At the same time a new Russian "drone sub" has been created that can strike U.S. coastal cities and harbors with nuclear weapons. Writing on NationalSecurity.news, Jon Dougherty states, "According to officials, the developmental unmanned underwater vehicle, or UUV, when it is deployed, will be outfitted with megaton-class nuclear warheads that can destroy key ports used by U.S. nuclear-armed and powered submarines like Kings Bay, Georgia, and Puget Sound in Washington state."
The ultimate pre-emptive strike on America: EMP attack, cyber attack, currency wars and bandwidth blackouts
If you put the pieces of the puzzle together, what's really shaping up here is a massive, multi-layered pre-emptive strike against America, an empire seen by the rest of the world as an insane bully that meddles with everything on the international stage. This first strike, combining the forces and expertise of both China and Russia, may consist of:
• High-altitude EMP detonation over North America, destroying regional power grids.
• A devastating currency war initiated by China announcing its own gold-backed currency while dumping U.S. Treasury debt on the open market.
• A Russian-led severing of undersea fiber optic cables.
• Russian-launched nuclear missiles targeting U.S. coastal cities.

As all this is going on, the Obama administration -- a treasonous regime of criminals who have seized control of the U.S. government in an effort to destroy America from within -- has been firing all the top military commanders who know how to survive such an assault. Instead of America's military focusing on how to win wars, troops are now subjected to sensitivity training and the politically correct push for female troops on the front lines.
This is not fiction. Even the U.S. White House is now openly preparing for a massive EMP attack launched by China.

‘Sicily is not a war lab!’ Hundreds march against NATO drills (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Hundreds
of people have taken to the streets of Sicily protesting against
Trident Juncture 2015, the largest military maneuvers in more than a
decade, which NATO claims are designed to adapt the alliance to
“emerging security challenges.”
The
protesters marched through the streets of the city of Marsala, less
than 10 miles (16km) from Vincenzo Florio Airport. The airport is a base
for the 37th Wing of the Italian air force and is one of the forward
operating bases (FOBs) used by NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control.
Organized by the “No war, no NATO” group, activists from all corners of the Italian island marched with banners reading “Sicily is not laboratory of the war” and "Sicily is no war zone". People urged the Italian government to better invest in education and the medical sector rather than military activity.

The
prevailing crisis in Ukraine following a US-backed coup will remain a
stain on the reputation of Western governments, an analyst writes in a
column for the Press TV website.
“The killings in
East Ukraine by sending in the Right Sector thugs to do the dirty work
will be remembered as an example of Western moral bankruptcy,” Jim W.
Dean wrote.
He stated that the US Central Intelligence Agency
(CIA) and the coup government in Kiev organized a “stupid anti-terror
operation” which led to dozens of deaths in the southern city of Odessa
on May 2.
Dean described the status quo in Ukraine as
“a disgraceful episode” for the Western governments, adding, “Some
political careers deserve to be destroyed for their ill-planned and
motivated failure. It was a criminal plan.”
The analyst said the Western governments “have made fools of themselves” in the eyes of people.

Our VT crisis team analysis concluded that the photographic evidence
showed the inconsistent burn injuries to be indicative of obscuring how
and what was used to kill many of these people. The
only options really on the table was lethal gas, and we surmized
Vx...something that lung tissue analysis would confirm or not. We

"Victims of the Odessa fire massacre died within seconds, but not from
smoke or carbon monoxide suffocation, the head of Odessa's emergency
service department, Vladimir Bodelan, said on his Facebook page." Witnesses
reported bodies and people being herded into the basement, and then
this dissapeared from the news. Not a word about "missing" people was
mentioned by the Odessa authorities. And of course it is easy to have

May 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian military “simulated armed clashes”
against a self-defense group on the outskirts of the city of Kramatorsk
in the Donetsk region, a representative of voluntary guard of the
self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.
“A
ten-vehicle-strong armored column under the cover of six helicopters
entered the township of Solntsevo” and the entry was followed by brisk
fire involving large-caliber automatic weapons,” he said.
The
man who witnessed the events said “they were shooting at nowhere, in the
sky and into the open field as there aren't any woods nearby.” Upon
hearing the shooting, locals “took shelter in cellars.”
“There were no self-defense fighters in this area, to say nothing of bases,” he said.
Ukrainian military storm Kramatorsk, 1 dead, 9 injured

The
Ukrainian army’s assault on Kramatorsk has finished, witnesses say,
adding that the military did not enter the town. Preliminary reports say
that one self-defense activist was killed and nine were injured.
It is unclear whether there are any casualties on the army’s side.
Meanwhile
coup-appointed interior minister Arsen Avakov has said on his Facebook
page that Kiev is not planning to stop the special military operation in
Kramatorsk, adding that the military assault will continue at sunrise.
He added that the military took control of a TV tower in Kramatorsk
overnight. “The military attacked the barricade on the road to Yasnogorka (town adjacent to Kramatorsk),” an eye-witness in Kramatorsk told RT when the assault started late on Friday. “The
lights have been turned off on the nearby street. Shots are being heard
across the city, signal rockets light up the sky from time to time.
People are saying the Ukrainian army is shooting at everything that
moves right now.”
Medics told RIA Novosti that 10 people
sustained wounds, one of whom died in hospital. At least one of the
injured is a woman. It was earlier reported that dozens had been killed
or injured.
Meanwhile, the army has resumed its special operation
in Slavyansk on Friday evening. The headquarters of the people’s
self-defense is under snipers’ fire, according to Itar-Tass. There are
reports of injuries among protesters.
KRAMATORSK, Ukraine
-- For 30-year old Oleksiy, April 15 wasn't a good day. He was one of
300 or so Russian-backed militants from Kramatorsk who attempted to take
over the Ukrainian military airfield in Donetsk Oblast's Kramatorsk.
But
Ukraine's army repelled them, in one of the first -- and Ukrainians
hope not the last -- battlefield victories since April 6, when
Kremlin-supported and heavily armed insurgents started taking over key
government buildings and installations throughout Ukraine's most
populous oblast.
But contrary to Russian media reports that 11
people were killed, the Ukrainian military operation left only three
wounded -- including Oleksiy, who refused to give his full name. He was
lucky to get away with a grazed hip when Ukrainian officers shot him.
Two others weren't so lucky and were hospitalized with more serious
gunshot wounds. They are expected to live, however.
"Our guys only
had three machine guns with them, and they weren't the first to shoot.
The soldiers started shooting at us when we just tried to enter the
base," said Oleksiy, who sounded surprised that he couldn't enter a
Ukrainian military base with a machine gun. His side got off some
gunshots, but all missed their targets.
However, the crowd was
ready for more violent attacks: They prepared dozens of Molotov
cocktails, but never used them -- just left them there, near the
airfield gates.
The military airfield near Kramatorsk, a city of some 250,000 people, has been out of use for years.
However,
when pro-Russian separatist protests escalated in Donetsk Oblast over
the weekend, the old airfield sparkled suspicion among the local
protesters. They expected the Ukrainian army to put it to use to bring
troops to suppress the uprising, so they kept watch over it since April
12 and tried to gain entry on April 15 -- which turned out to be a poor
decision.

symbols on helicopter gunships which Ukrainian military forces use in a
punitive operation near the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk is a
matter of the international organization’s secretariat, Russian Deputy
Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told reporters on Thursday.
