Dogs euthanized and shallow graves found on property of no-kill sanctuary

February 6, 2014
According to Thursday's Bay News 9, officials who executed a search warrant at a Bradenton, Fla., animal sanctuary discovered multiple shallow graves on the property.
On Wednesday, following a weeks long investigation, deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, veterinarians and animal services officials, seized upwards of 300 animals from the Napier's Log Cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary, a self-described "No-Kill," non-profit animal sanctuary.
Many of the animals on the property were in poor health - approximately 12 dogs were in such poor condition that they were humanely euthanized.
Eight dogs were found in a shallow grave on the property and it is unclear if there are more which have yet to be found.

You can greatly help in several ways:
~Make monetary donations to rescue organizations in Manatee County (see below).
~Foster animals currently in rescue adoption programs to free up space.
~Adopt! Thinking about adopting a new family pet soon? Now is the time. Head out to one of our adoption partners tomorrow.
Together we can help these animals. Most likely, it will be a while before these animals from Napier's are ready for adoption due to medical care and screenings, legal issues with the animal cruelty case, etc.
But YOU CAN HELP NOW by bringing your friends and family out to local rescues and adopt to free up space and resources so the rescues can give time and care to these animals in need.
