Recently, Golda lost her home of six years after her owner surrendered her to the New York Animal Care and Control in Manhattan.
Aside from the obvious heartbreak of being left at the facility came certain danger - in fact, the other dog that was surrendered with Golda, at the same time, was killed before help came.
Fortunately, Golda's tale does not end tragically.
Thanks to the Facebook page, Lilly the Hero Pit Bull, which was kind enough to share her story with their thousands of fans, help arrived.
One of the page fans, named Julie, was able to coordinate with the rescue agency, Amsterdog, and Golda's life was spared.
Today, Golda has a new family and calls a wonderful, 95-acre horse farm in Pennsylvania "home."
Networking saves lives - thanks to those who took the time to share Golda's information, she is alive today and her future is bright.
